A new book offers a theological exploration of homelessness, based on the real lived experiences of homeless people. And a discount is available for Church Action on Poverty supporters.
Stories from the Street reflects our own concerns at Church Action on Poverty, in starting with real-life stories, and in exploring what the church should focus on – alleviating poverty and homelessness, or tackling the root causes.
Jon Kuhrt, Executive Director of Social Work at the West London Mission, has posted a critical review of the book on his blog. If you’re interested in the book yourself, it costs £17.99, but the publishers are offering a 35% discount for our supporters and readers. Here’s how to get a discounted copy:
- Order your book by visiting the Ashgate website and pressing the ‘Add to Basket’ button.
- When you reach the checkout stage, enter the discount code ‘A13HOL35’ in the box marked ‘Promotional Code’ in Step 1.
- Press the Update Basket button and you will see the discount applied to this title in your basket.
- Proceed through the remaining steps to confirm your order.
This offer is valid until 31 July 2013.
Sorry – but I think you’ll find it costs £17.99 until you apply the discount! Which isn’t to say that it’s still worth buying. But the postage put me off.
Apologies David – our mistake.
We’ve now corrected this.
